War Memorial Dedications


In addition to the World War I and II tablets there are two dedication tablets.

First Dedication Tablet

The text reads


"With those who died in the conclict of 1914-1918 are here commemorated the men and women of Bath serving in His Majesty's Forces, Civil Defence and Special Constabulary who gave their lives for freedom in the Second World War 1939-1945"

Second Dedication Tablet


Bath War Memorial second dedication plaque

The text reads


"The names of our city's gallant dead who made the supreme sacrifice in the World War 1939-1945 together with those of civilians killed by enemy action are recorded in Books of Remembrance at Bath Abbey church and the church of St. John the Evangelist, South Parade."
