What is it?


The Oak tree was planted on July 9th 2025 to mark eighty years of friendship between the cities of Bath and Alkmaar, a city in the Netherlands.There is a plaque and information board in Orange Grove that gives more information about this friendship.

Where is it in Bath?


The oak is located on the south side of Royal Avenue in Royal Victoria Park.
It is near to the Bandstand and one of the Josephine Vases.Location of Alkmaar Oak in Royal Victoria Park
The plaque contains the following inscription:
Alkmaar oak plaque

The text reads:

 "This oak tree was planted to mark 80 years of friendship between the cities of Bath and Alkmaar (Netherlands) 1945 - 2025
Mayor of Bath Bharat Pankhania
Mayor of Alkmaar Anja Schouten"
